Photoplog Lite to UMG

Is there a way to import the galery structure and the photos in photoplog to the UMG? If there is a way to do this i'm goingto change photoplog lite with UMG. UMG is much more better and the price is good.

There is a converter for Photoplog PRO/Lite.

I tried to use this for testing with Photoplog lite and UMG Lite. It gives an error in filesize() function.

Is there a solution for this?

This function will try to get the filesize of the image:
.../photoplog/images/5138/6_fronti20cm.jpg

If your photoplog directory isn't photoplog/, so please change it in line 22
$photoplogdir = 'photoplog/'; before you start the converter.

/forum
/forum/umg
/photoplog

so did i change dir ../photoplog ?

I think not.
A few lines later (202) you will found this line:
$get_folder = DIR . '/' . $photoplogdir . 'images/' . $f['userid'];
to trace, if the path is correct simply add below this line
echo $get_folder."<br>"

When starting the converter, it will also gives you the path out

It goes to the forum/photoplog directory not the photoplog directory. So i think the making the photoplogdir variable as ../photoplog will solve the proglem.

Maybe, you have to try it. Otherwise, change the $get_folder directely

Now read files ok. writing them is ok too. But the script only imports the first category. Then start again importing the same category. So write the images only one folder. Not pass to the next category. But it imports the whole category structure.

Can this help you for repreducing? Or how can i help you in a different whay to do this? Because i realley need this. I going to upgrade to the VB4 and the only problem is the image gallery. So i must convert the images to UMG.

You should test ist before, cause I have a known problem with some private cats from PP.
All Images, comments, ratings aso will converted to the umg.

Sorry, 'bout the spain language, but I speak only a view words - that's why I haven't no spanish language for it.

When you try to upgrade your vB4 - what is no problem - you still need the PP Database and the File structure (also PP) onto your server.

My question is, once I've downloaded the UMG for vb3.8 and upgraded the VB4, you can download new version of UMG for VB4?

Do we are talking about the PRO or Lite version ?
If you get a licence for the PRO version, it doesn't mather what vB version you are using. The DL itself is for all availiable versions (vB 3.7 / vB 3.8 / vB 4.0.x). The Lite is only availiable for vB 3.7.x or vB3.8.x.

No, there is a folder called "do_not_upload". In there you will find a handfull of converter. You need to install the UMG first, next is to upload the converter file to you server - change the PP folder address inside the file before uploading - and start the convert script.
Once it's done, go into the AdminCP -> UMG -> Maintenance. You should start here the Cache & Category count scripts.

Thanks coroner, look at the moment I have vb3.8 version, and PP pro, and I can not switch to VB4 because I have to clear the gallery and that PP pro, VB4 does not support the PP pro works really well , But I need to upgrade to VB4 and people are very good references from UMG.

In our forum we use a lot of the images in the gallery for our posts, so I can not afford to disable it, I would lose the links to the images, and that is why I go to UMG, I hope I can do what I do with PP.

Coroner, I can not say that I am not afraid to switch to UMG, so I told you, you know what it takes to get a good photo gallery, we currently have over 1000 photos and for me very important, so I'm afraid, but from what people say UMG outperforms PP.

There is no need to be afraid.

The conversion (PP to UMG) will definately NOT delete any images, comments or ratings.

So, what does the converter do ?
It take a look in the database (PP tables) gets all the categories and create a new structure in the database (UMG tables). Next it will do the same with the image/media tables. And the last step is, that it will get the original image from your server, COPYING it into the UMG and CREATE 2 NEW THUMBNAILS.

Not really.

1st.) Install the Gallery (UMG)
2nd.) take a look in folder "do_not_upload" and you will found a handfull of converter. Open the one you need and change the path to you PP folder
3rd.) upload the converter into your forum-root and start it
